Based on the three made-for-television movies that originally aired on TNT, The Librarians picks up where those left off and adds some new blood along the way.
The Librarian, Flynn Carsen (Wyle), is searching desperately for the Library itself, which is lost to time and space. In the meantime, three new Librarians (Kim, Kane, and Booth) are summoned to the Annex, where they meet their new guardian Colonel Eve Baird (Romijn), a former NATO soldier.
Together, they find artifacts that can bring magic back to the world.
Why It Was So Good:
Sound familiar, Warehouse 13 fans?
The two shows have striking similarities, but in this case, that’s OK. The Librarians is currently on season 3 on TNT and has been picked up for season 4.
Overall, Wyle is more of a recurring character, leaving the other four to eat up some serious screen time (along with fellow TV-vet John Larroquette, who plays Annex caretaker Jenkins…who’s actually Sir Lancelot!).
The villains have been fantastic, with Matt Frewer (Eureka, Timeless) as Dulaque in season 1, Richard Cox (Ghostwriter) and David S. Lee (Nikita) as Prospero and Moriarty, respectively, in season 2.
